THE NEXT GENERATION OF BUSINESS LEADERS BATTLE TO REPRESENT PAKISTAN AT THE GLOBAL STUDENT ENTREPRENEUR AWARDS

Published on: July 27, 2023 7:02 PM

GSEA is EO’s premier awards program for students who own or operate a business while attending college or university. Entrepreneurs Organization (EO) Pakistan is excited to launch the 2023/2024 GSEA program and has opened applications for it. All student entrepreneurs from different universities are encouraged to apply.

Prizes include a total package of PKR 100,000 for the top three winners of the Pakistan Chapter along with in kind offerings such as mentorship and access to local accelerator learning days. The winner from the competition shall receive PKR 500,000 in addition to an all-expenses paid trip to EO GSEA Global Finals. The runner-up will receive PKR 200,000 with additional awards for Social Impact and Technology Innovation. Winners will also represent their country in the global competition where they will compete for a total prize package of US$100,000 in cash. EO GSEA Pakistan has also announced that winners will receive training, mentorship, and support from EO’s members as they develop their entrepreneurial careers.

Pakistan student entrepreneurs have competed and won multiple awards at the Global Finals that have happened over the past 6 years.

The Pakistan Chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), the world’s leading peer-to peer network of successful business leaders, will host its qualifying competition of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) in January’ 2024.

The deadline for applications is midnight (Pakistan Time) on the 30th August’ 2023.

WHAT MAKES GSEA UNIQUE?

Unlike other pitch competitions, GSEA focuses on identifying students who exhibit the tenacious spirit of the entrepreneur. GSEA’s unique scoring rubric rewards a competitor’s resilience, adaptability and passion as they manage the hurdles of entrepreneurialism over the financial success of their company. Students who demonstrate the capacity to navigate the chaos of starting a business while completing a degree with enthusiasm and drive earn the winning spot.

Former winner of the GSEA Pakistan national competition, Shehzad Younis said:

“(Apart from the support by co-founder and CMO Eye Automate Hamza Javaid and my family, I have been lucky to find great mentors like Mr. Shoaib Zahid Malik from Kausar Group, Mr. S.M. Imran from Deen Textiles and Mr Khuram from EO GSEA Pakistan. They helped me a lot in grooming myself as an entrepreneur and I owe a great deal of my success to them.)”

Local competitions are currently underway across the world. In 2022, over 1,000 student entrepreneurs applied, with 40 country champions competing in the Global Finals. In addition to networking and mentorship, global finalists stand a chance to win cash prizes and international exposure. The competition also recognizes special efforts towards Social Impact, Innovation, and Lessons from the Edge. To learn more about the GSEA competition and participants, visit: http://gsea.org/
