Hats off to SC

Sir: I salute the superior judiciary for its recent judgment, wherein it upheld the principle of fair play and equal opportunities for all as enshrined in the Constitution of Pakistan. It categorically rejected the Sindh government’s move to bypass the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) regarding appointments in grade 16 and above and ordered to make such hiring strictly through the SPSC. It is said that around 400 jobs of Town Municipal Officers, doctors and engineers from grade 16 to 18 have already been filled while bypassing the SPSC. Nonetheless, the Supreme Court (SC) should nullify the appointments made by the Sindh government in the last seven years while violating Article 240, 242 and the Sindh Services Rules 1990. I request the Sindh government to shun the malpractice of favouring political cronies and follow the constitution and guidelines provided by the SC.
