Sir: There are so many things that we need to learn as we grow up. Our grooming is affected by our class, surroundings and mainly by our parents. In the present age when both parents remain busy at their jobs, children sometimes need extra grooming. The lack of grooming adversely affects one’s personality when one enters professional life. It becomes worse when some ill-mannered persons enter politics. Our daily TV talk shows clearly display the lack of grooming of our politicians; it seems as if they do not know basic manners. There are many institutions all over the world that teach different subjects that are not examination-oriented but goal-oriented; we can introduce subjects like ‘Personal Development’ or ‘Personal Grooming’, which should be obligatory for everyone. I remember that we had a behaviour class in our school. This course should be taught to our politicians also. ZAFAR ULLAH BHUTTOLarkana
