Sir: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) wrapped up its national training camp in Islamabad citing paucity of funds as one of the major reasons behind the closure. Moreover, PHF could not pay daily allowances to its players and coaches. After this, Hockey India offered financial help to Pakistan, which was a very good gesture made by our neighbours. The President of PHF, Akhtar Rasool, has made an emotional appeal to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to save the national game. I am sure that neither the Prime Minister nor Pakistan Sports Board will pay any attention to his plea. By the way where is Malik Riaz? He can take some meaningful action in this regard.
