Sir: Though getting more advanced day by day, our country still has conservative minds, especially in the case of education for girls. Though conservativeness is appreciated in some fields to keep children within ‘limits’, some parents to date do not think it is alright for girls to be educated. It is understandable when people from rural areas have such thoughts but it is surprising that even people from urban areas, who are much more advanced in their jobs and social lives, forbid their daughters to study after intermediate. Not because they have financial problems, but because they doubt their daughters’ capabilities. They think that they are mentally and physically weak. They have forgotten that these girls grow up to give birth to the future generations. People should think how they imprison what could be great minds.QURATULAIN QASEEMKarachi
