Sir: As reported in the media, the ratio of the forced renunciation of Pakistani citizenship has increased in recent years. Reportedly, the brain drain has mostly been occurring to Canada, Europe and the Middle East. A large number of people go to these countries in search of better job prospects and employment opportunities. Though remittances sent by them to their families at home make a positive impact on the economy, yet the brain drain is detrimental to the socio-cultural fabric of our beloved homeland. The incumbent government is working for the progress and development of the country and it is hoped that the situation will be controlled on a priority basis. A prosperous, peaceful and developed homeland will naturally restrict this massive brain drain to other developed countries.AFIA MALIKLahore
