Sir: A well meditated resolution on the Yemen conflict that was unanimously adopted by parliament is a welcome development. The landmark decision shows that parliament is sovereign. The maturity and attitude of the Prime Minister indicate his seriousness to change the orthodox trends of political culture in Pakistan. Instead of striking coveted deals in isolation, he acknowledged the role of parliament in these crucial times. Our parliament also deserves appreciation for building much needed consensus that Pakistan should stand by Saudi Arabia in all turbulent times and should mediate between two Muslim countries. A constructive role by gigantic organisations like the Organisation of the Islamic Conference and United Nations Security Council in this potentially dangerous war would surely steer the entire world to the comfort zone. The joint resolution is the victory of a peace loving nation. HASAN ZEBLahore
