Sir: This is with reference to the blatant remarks by the UAE minister about the resolution passed by our parliament. The threatening tone adopted by the minister was quite unacceptable and an insult to Pakistan as a nation. The response of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan is quite valid that the outburst of the minister was against all the diplomatic norms and principles of international relations. It is also heartening to know that almost all political parties have shown their displeasure over the remarks and shown a consensus over respecting the unanimous decision taken by parliament. The Gulf states and Saudi Arabia should understand and respect the decision of Pakistan’s parliament of staying neutral in the Yemen conflict, as it echoes the voice of the Pakistani nation. This is the beauty of democracy, which should be respected by the kingdoms. HAFSA KHALEDLahore
