Sir: Online shopping has gained popularity in the whole world as it provides ease of shopping to customers so that they do not have to spare time out of their busy schedule to buy their daily requirements. It helps people to get what they want just by browsing. All you need to do is just find what you want, buy it either via cash or pay the price after delivery. Online shopping has brought a drastic change in everyone’s life. It has gained immense popularity in the west. People do not go to malls or stores to buy things. What they do is online shopping. Pakistan is known as a third world country. Internet shopping in Pakistan began in 2001 and after the passage of 14 years; it has not gained the popularity that was expected. The major reason is that most people do not trust firms that provide the facility of internet shopping as the people in Pakistan have a negative view about such firms that they have been established to cheat others. A small portion of the population of Pakistan facilitate themselves with the effectiveness of internet shopping while the rest keep themselves away from it as they believe they would be cheated.
The government should take measures to make it easy for customers to do online shopping. It should assist those firms that are facilitating people with the service of internet shopping. Moreover, the government should launch a firm of their own that provides internet shopping. This would also help the government as the profit gained through it can be used for the betterment and development of our country. I would be happy to see the government of Pakistan taking measures to improve internet shopping in the country as it can be a great source of economic development for us.
