KARACHI: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday inquired about health of renowned philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi at Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) He was accompanied by the Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan. The chief of Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT), Prof Adeeb Rizvi, wife of Sattar Edhi, Bilquees Edhi and son, Faisal Edhi, were also present. Dar conveyed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s best wishes for his early recovery. He also conveyed a message of goodwill from the prime minister. Ishaq Dar said that every Pakistani was proud of his immense contributions the welfare of humanity “In the realms of social work, Edhi has earned a very good name for Pakistan in the comity of nations,” he remarked. Dar also assured assistance towards the resolution of the problems of Edhi Foundation. Speaking on the occasion, the Sindh Governor said Edhi was identity of Pakistan. People from every walk of life are appreciative of his services and are praying for his early recovery, he said. Meanwhile, the finance minister on Friday visited the residence of late qawwal Amjad Sabri and offered condolences to the bereaved family. He was accompanied by the Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan and PML-N Senator Nihal Hashmi. Dar condoled with the mother and brother of Amjad Sabri, who was gunned down in Karachi on Wednesday. He assured the family members that the killers would be brought to book and that every possible step was being taken in this regard. He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also shared the grief of the bereaved family. He said that the services of the deceased would long be remembered. Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan said that the assassination of Amjad Sabri was a great loss and every Pakistani was saddened over his tragic death.
