ISLAMABAD: The Interior Ministry has extended the Pakistan Army’s stay in the federal capital for another 90 days and a notification has been issued in the matter. The extension came in under Article 245 of the constitution – as at least 350 army personnel are deployed at sensitive instalments in the federal capital. It is pertinent to mention here that a targeted operation is also underway in Karachi where the federation has deployed Pakistan Rangers since 2013 to curb criminal activities and extensions are granted every three months.
