LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri would be arriving at the Lahore airport on Wednesday, July 27. The PAT chairman would chair the Central Executive Committee meeting on the July 29 in which important decisions are likely to be made. All the district presidents of the party would also attend the meeting. The meeting would also review the arrangements for the July 31 National consultative meeting in which leaders of the opposition parties would also be present and would decide the future line of action in regard to the countrywide protests for seeking justice for the people killed in Model Town tragedy. Talking to central leaders of the party from Glasgow, the PAT chairman said, “We have been running from pillar to post in search of justice for the martyrs of the Model Town incident and have knocked at every door of the justice system in the country, but all in vain.” Qadri said that their calls and requests had all fallen on deaf ears. He said, “let it be known to all that PAT will not rest until we get justice and remove this corrupt system.” He said that his party’s battle continues and it would take all steps necessary to remove ‘corrupt rulers and corrupt system’ and above all get justice for the ‘martyrs’ of the Model town tragedy. He said that the country was being run according to the wishes of a single person and there was no respect of the Constitution. He said that the rights of the poor people in Pakistan were being usurped and they were being subjected to the worst kind of state-sponsored terrorism, where police killed innocent people as, when and how the rulers desired. He said that his party would continue its fight against ‘this system.’ He said that the National Accountability Bureau had given a clean chit to Prime Minister Nawaz Shari who had earlier confessed to his crimes in a written statement. He said that when the prime minister threatened the NAB officials the department changed the direction of its investigation. He said that the NAB chairman had not given a satisfactory reply to the allegations levelled against him. He said that it was imperative that Pakistan gets a ruthless accountability law and system.
