Sir: Gutka is a powdery, light brown to white coloured substance. When it is chewed it’s colour turns deep red. It has a mild stimulant affect on people who use it. It is a very harmful habit which can cause cancers of the mouth and throat. Doctors often call gutka the most harmful form of tobacco, as it enters the system directly through the lining of the mouth and oesophagus.
