Sir: The people of Pakistan expect democracy to deliver equity and equal access to justice and economic opportunities. There seems to be no end to crime and corruption in this country. No proper infrastructure for education, healthcare and social assistance is available. We keep hearing about development funds that the government allocates for different projects but nothing changes on the ground. Visit any part of Sindh province and you will find that various villages do not even have school buildings. If there happens to be one, teachers do not bother to go to school except when it is time to receive their salaries. It is extremely shocking that two out of five children in Sindh die before the age of five, often from illnesses that could be easily prevented by access to basic healthcare. Whether one believes it or not, it is an undeniable fact that the people of this country want to get rid of those who have robbed and ruined this country in the name of democracy and they want revolutionary changes in all aspects of life. That is why we are seeing different sit-ins and rallies being staged across the country. HASHIM ABRO Islamabad
