ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif Thursday said the security forces have more work to do to achieve the final objective of a fully peaceful and prosperous Pakistan Addressing the participants of the Command and Staff College during his visit to Quetta, the army chief while dilating on the effects of Operation Zarb-e-Azb, explained how the security forces had transited from hardcore kinetic operations to the intelligence-based operations and now combing operations. Highlighting his vision of conclusion of operations for peace and stability in Pakistan, he reiterated, “We are not there yet, and have more work to do to achieve our final objective of a fully peaceful and prosperous Pakistan.” Explaining international and regional security environment, the army chief emphasised Pakistan’s resolve and determination to confront the global phenomenon of terrorism and extremism, according to an ISPR new release. “No other military of the world has been able to synergies effects as much as Pak Army could do single handedly. I am rightly proud of commanding this dynamic and resolute force,” he said. The army chief also visited Southern Command Headquarters in Quetta where he was briefed about operational matters and security situation in Balochistan. According to the ISPR, the COAS appreciated the efforts of law enforcement agencies with special regard to the intelligence agencies in unearthing networks of foreign agencies which have been working against the state of Pakistan. “Together we will defeat any nefarious design of hurting Pakistan and root out hostile enemies from our country,” the COAS reiterated.
