ISLAMABAD: Almost all opposition parties have termed the prime minister’s address to the nation as “jugglery of words”. In a message on Twitter shortly after Prime Minister Sharif’s televised address, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto said that Premier Sharif should step down over Panama leaks. He said Nawaz Sharif should put all the matters before the parliament and should keep his words and quit his office.Leader of the Opposition in Senate Aitezaz Ahsan described Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s address as “unsatisfactory”. “This is not the commission opposition parties have been seeking to investigate Panama papers,” he said. He added that opposition parties were not taken into confidence about the terms of reference (TORs) of the judicial commission. Addressing the media on Friday, PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kairsa said the PPP and other political parties would not let the matter of Panama Papers be forgotten. “The government’s method of dealing with any major issue is to let it play out, and once enough time passes and other important issues take precedence, the matter is forgotten,” said Kaira. He added that all political parties are united on the issue of Panama Papers, and the government’s tactic of diluting important issues will not work. Pakistan Tehrike-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday said, “Nawaz just told his own tales but the actual problem is where has the money gone. He said all the matter would be unveiled if forensic audit be conducted. Given the scenario, he said the chief justice would not accept the terms of reference (TORs), formulated by the government, without the consensus of political parties. Awami Musim League (AML) head Sheikh Rashid said, “Instead of responding to allegation against his (PM) family, the prime minister resorted to personal attacks against Imran Khan.” He predicted that Prime Minister Sharif would address the nation once more in the coming days.Meanwhile, Sindh Information Adviser Maula Bux Chandio said on Friday that Premier Sharif’s address to the nation was “disappointing”.
