RAWALPINDI: Four public parks in Rawalpindi city including Liaqat Bagh, Nawaz Sharif Park, Children’s Park Committee Chowk and Ladies Park Chandni Chowk have been closed for public entry till further orders due to terror threats and poor security arrangements. According to media reports, the district administration has closed all public parks in Rawalpindi city. The district management said the parks had been sealed due to terror threats. All the public parks were closed for the safety and security of the general public. Three major public parks which are covered under the Army will remain open for public. These parks are Race Course Park, Jinnah Park and Ayub Park. Stolen van: The National Highways & Motorway Police has recovered a stolen Carry Van from Motorway (M-2) Bhera service area, which was stolen from Lahore. As per details, Motorway Police received an information from the local police Bhera, that a white colour Bolan Carry Van No. LE-3350, model 2015 had been stolen from Lahore and requested for help in the recovery of the said Carry Van. On this information the Motorway Police alerted all zone patrolling vehicles. While checking, NH&MP officers SPO Ghulam Abbas and PO Ejaz found the said Carry Van on Motorway (M-2) Bhera service area and no one was present there, the NH&MP officers took the car in their custody. Later on, the Motorway Police handed over the recovered Carry Van to the Local Police Shad Bagh Police Station Lahore, for further legal investigations. Murder: A man was allegedly gunned down within the jurisdiction of Wah Cantt Police. Javed Khan reported to Wah Cantt Police that he was present at his home when Musafir Khan informed him that the dead body of his brother Khurshid was lying beside bricks. “I went up there and saw my brother was killed by some unknown person or persons”, he added. A watch of black colour was also found lying besides the body. Police have registered the case and started investigation. Accident: A man is said to have died in a road accident within the jurisdiction of Rawat Police. Ghulam Murtaza emergency medical technician Rescue 1122 told the police that a report had been received from Motorway Control room to their control room that a dead body of some unknown person was lying at a U-turn near Rawat Police Station. Hospital sources said that the victim’s age was ranging between 25 and 30 years. The body has been placed in a mortuary. online Abducted: A woman was allegedly abducted within the Wah Cantonment Police jurisdiction. Sohail Ahmed, a resident of Wah Cantonment, lodged a complaint with the local police that kidnappers had abducted his wife from the local market. He suspected that Noman could be behind the kidnapping. Suicide: A young girl attempted suicide by consuming poisonous capsules within the Westridge Police jurisdiction. An argument took place between two sisters in Westridge area which led the younger sister to consume poisonous capsules. Her condition deteriorated, and she was rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment.
