ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) has scheduled the 2nd two-day Pakistan International Mountain Film Festival (PIMFF) from Saturday in collaboration with Eyebex films. The PIMFF is a project of Eyebex Films. The first International Mountain Film Festival held in June 2015 in Lahore. The PIMFF was created to drive tourism to the beautiful lands, spacious valleys and peaceful surroundings. The platform also gives way to awareness for many other fields such as the people and some recent struggles, as well allowing tourists to more deeply understand foreign cultures of the area. The festival allows the developers to allot attention to those mountain films that may otherwise go unheeded. Allowing for more access to the finer efforts of those film makers form a tight knit with the community in Pakistan, the PIMFF gives a platform for tourists to experience the hard work and collaborate in their own unique ways. ‘Insan aur Farishta’ being screened today: Lok Virsa Mandwa Film Club will organise screening of a film “Insan aur Farishta” on Saturday (today) at the Virsa Media Center. “Insan Aur Farishta” is a 1976 super hit Pakistani drama film directed by Shabab Kairanvi and produced by A. Hameed. The film is based on a social subject and Roohi Bano plays a powerful role in the film. It’s a great production with a very nice story and cinematography. Delegation of Youth Parliamentary Assembly visits Gali-e-Dastoor: A-53 member delegation of the 8th Youth Parliamentary Assembly PILDAT on Friday visited Gal-e-Dastoor at the Parliament House and was briefed about the parliamentary and constitutional history of Pakistan besides the role, composition, working and performance of the Senate. Briefing the delegation, Additional Secretary Senate Dr. Pervez Abbas said the Senate had designed an exclusive and indigenous Parliamentary Education Programme (PEP) to create awareness about the benefits of the parliamentary system of government and connect people with the democratic institutions to bridge the trust deficit gap, a press release issued here said. He also informed about the salient features of the PEP and initiatives undertaken by the Senate to establish better institutional linkages and create awareness. He said the Senate was making endeavours to increase its outreach through this programme. “A number of initiatives have been taken under the dynamic leadership of Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani to improve the connectivity with the public,” Dr Pervez said.
