Education: The best gift from parents, don’t take it for granted

Published on: April 25, 2016 3:34 PM

Education is being taken for granted these days. Everyone should realise the value of good education. It’s our right to education. Nowadays many universities provide scholarships to intelligent and eligible students so that if they belong to some lower class they can continue their studies on scholarship from the well-known institutions.

As the improvement of the country is in progress I must say that our community is, likewise, on the way to its betterment. With the passage of time our community has proved that we are not weak, or less endowed. In the present era one can see and observe that there are several families who are well educated and wealthy. They achieved this all with their consistent hard work and honesty towards education. Almost all parents expect their children to study and attain good grades so that they can acquire good job without depending on any kind of help from any one.

I must say that most of us don’t even realise the value of the efforts that our parents are putting in for our education. They are working for us, sacrificing their own wishes just to give us the best. Most of us think that it is not a big deal if we don’t pay attention to studies because our parents have already secured our future with their savings. A lot of people take education for granted. They don’t appreciate what their parents are doing for them. There might be someone, somewhere, wishing for that blessing and resources which they are not respecting.

We don’t value what we have until it’s gone. We need to realise what is really important for us. Most of us think that what we are given will always be ours no matter we appreciate it or not, but when it’s gone all we have left is regret for not cherishing it on time. We should know that when blessings are not being honoured by man God takes His blessings back. We should be honest with ourselves and should respect the efforts and expectations of our parents.

One should go to college or university with the determination of taking all the classes regularly rather than bunking and enjoying. Many students get low grades due to short attendance and their failures affect their parents. Our success means a lot to our parents, and we should never let them down with our carelessness. Parents are the biggest blessing of God. At least for the sake of their smile we can change ourselves. They don’t ask for anything but they sacrifice everything for us. They spend their whole life working and providing for us, whatever we need.

But I think it is our responsibility to respect their expectations. It is our duty to secure their lives when they get old; they were busy in securing our future with their earnings. Love your parents, guys! They are not gonna stay with you forever. Education is not something to be taken for granted, take it as your first priority.
