Real men hit women

Published on: June 1, 2016 6:15 PM

If you were here to read an article on how to ‘lightly beat’ a female, then my friend you have some (serious) issues. In today’s world we are lucky to have wisdom for self-choice but where there are positive impact its twin, negativity is also present. This impression of life has existed since the arrival of man on this planet.

Females play an important role in men’s life and as we all know a man is incomplete without a woman. But there is a bitter truth behind this statement. We have seen how women were and still are very upset and insecure by the inhumane act of men towards them. It’s not about every man and it is not the story of every woman but unfortunately, most of them live in the realms of torture. Men position lust superior to love. We come across many stories of rape and assault by men. Social media is full of such stories that send shivers through our spine. Unfortunately, when women are seen helpless and afraid to stand out against the one who assaulted them it gives courage to ill thinking behavior.

Men consider themselves dominant and women are easy to pressurise. The main thing to worry about is how are religious scholars and speakers interpreting the teachings of Islam in a negative and modified manner. They say anything they want to and back their claims with references that link to Islamic teachings, which is not the base of any religion! No religion tells us to physically or mentally torture anyone. Women are soft, gentle and weak – should be treated with love and care.

‘Real men don’t hit women’ doesn’t apply to this modern world. When a woman marries a total stranger or even if she knows the man she gets married to – she needs to be felt safe, taken care of and should be respected. But when men are told that they can beat their wives, they can torture their women and can be harsh to them if they want to – is where we and society have failed. We have failed to protect our daughters, our wives, sisters and mothers. In short, we have failed to save a nation.

If we analyse thoroughly, we’ll realise that there is an increasing ratio of educating to educated people around us but what hurts to know is these educated people have failed to acknowledge and learn being nice to women is imperative for our society. Is this what our religion tells us to do? Is this what your inner self chooses to do? Then I am very sorry to tell you that you’ve failed your existence.

It’s never too late to take a step. Do you want to encourage your sons, fathers and brothers to bruise you? No you don’t! No, we don’t want anyone to tell us by passing an absurd bill on the name of religion that how we should treat our women or anyone else around us. This is what we have to decide on our own and ask ourselves why have we failed and how?
