Scholarships: A helping hand to pursue education

Published on: August 15, 2016 9:35 AM

Education is the most essential part of a person’s life. Every child has a right to get education. Almost all the educated and uneducated parents try their best to give their children the best education facilities. They work hard for the betterment of their kids so that they can go to the well reputed schools. Every parent wants to see their child as a successful person in his future. A kid can survive without having toys but without education he will be nothing at all in his future.

As Tibetan proverb says “A child without education is like a bird without wings.” This indicates the importance of education. If a bird doesn’t have wings it would never know how far it can fly. Similarly if a child doesn’t gets education he will never know his abilities and he would never realize which field is best for him to become efficacious and successful. Parents should allow their children to select the subjects for further studies after school. A child should not be bound to study the subjects of the choice of his parents. He should be given freedom to choose the best for him. Education is necessary for all either boys or girls every kid deserves to go to school.

Why we should care about the education? Well education is the resource that innovates one’s knowledge-based society. One can challenge the norms of society after being educated.  The capacity of people and countries to create wealth is positively associated to the value of the education available to people. Therefore, producing human wealth is significant to nurturing profitable growth in any nation. It should be an entire priority considering the competition among other developing countries.

A famous quote “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” Shows how much good education matters for a better future of not just a person but the whole nation. Every developing country requires well educated citizens for its improvement. It is education that helps a person know the difference between good or bad aspects of society. If a kid is not being sent to school on time he would never learn to accept or reject the norms and customs of human race. A quote by Nelson Mandela says “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” This quote describe the importance of education and how it can change the world around you. Let’s take a common example of two people arguing on some random topic if both are uneducated they will start yelling till the argue become a serious fight but if one is educated among the two he will try to avoid the conflict and if both are educated for some time they will argue but later they will change the topic to keep the environment around them peaceful. Education can change the negativity into positivity.

The biggest problem faced by kids for getting education is lack of resources. It is very common in Pakistan that people are unable to afford the expenses for education for their children. They don’t have much income to send their kids to schools and colleges. Some are unaware of the facility of scholarships and financial aids being provided to eligible students. Well most of the colleges and universities are providing merit scholarships and financial aids for the needy students. Some schools as well are under the charity fund services given by well-known organizations. Many organizations and charitable foundations are working for the betterment of needy people and children by raising funds for them. If we talk about the role of scholarship offered by the private sector and charitable foundations, it helps the students to continue their studies without depending upon income from their parents it grants an ideal opportunity for private sector to invest in their employees and thus shows their commitment towards retaining valuable human resources and it gives underprivileged and neglected students the opportunity to compete alongside paid students.

Education is the most important thing that everyone deserves to have in this present time without education a person have no identity and for providing education to maximum people many private organizations and foundations are playing a vital role. There should be more and more opportunities of scholarships offered by private sectors and charitable foundations.
