Hania slams Modi over illegal annexation of IHK, Neelam Munir urges people to pray

Published on: August 14, 2019 2:19 AM

Actress Hania Aamir came to the defence of Kashmiris who are facing atrocities in Indian-Held Kashmir (IHK) and slammed Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi by exposing videos of Muslims being beaten up and forced to chant pro-Hindu slogans.

In her series of Tweets, the actress censured Indian PM Narendra Modi of dual standards by allowing his followers to torture Muslims besides making tall claims of defending rights of Kashmiri people.

She said, “So Modi Ji says the removal of Article 370 will result in a better future for the people of Kashmir. Quote on quote “Kashmir kai logon ka vartman sudhre ga Aur bhawishr surakshit hoga” really? You think beating people up and forcing them to chant jaye shree raam is going?”

Hania Aamir continued, “To give the people of Jammu & Kashmir a better future? He continues to talk about how ‘baki baitiyon ko jo haq milte hain woh Jammu Kashmir ki baitiyon ko nahi milte’ and you think killing and harassing their fathers, husbands and brothers will aid women empowerment in Kashmir?”

Later, she said, “And then he continues to talk about the minimum wage act and the minority act that does not exist in Kashmir! You don’t get to speak about minorities! Under your government this is how the minorities are being treated! Harassed, bullied, killed, bombed!”

“And you’re speaking about their right? and Are Indians not going to come forward and speak against this? I have Indian friends and I know they don’t stand with terror and violence! Modi jee is this your new introduced democracy in Kashmir?”

“Is this how you’re introducing new job opportunities in Kashmir? There’s one race and that is humanity! Don’t create this divide to justify your injustice! Zulm Aur tashadud kar kai koi insaan ya mulk zyada dair tak thehra nahi hai!”

“Scrap being Indian or Pakistani or Hindu or Muslim This is bigger than that! This is about the human race! Show some humanity! Khuda se daro!” she tweeted using hashtag ‘#StandwithKashmir’.

Separately, actress Neelam Munir on Saturday urged her fans and other people to pray for IHK at a time when the Indian government and forces were violating basic human rights to curb protests after illegal annexation of the valley.

“Please pray for Kashmir and Kashmiris too during Hajj days,” the ‘Dil Mom Ka Diya’ actress wrote in a story shared on her Instagram profile.

The actress also shared a post in which she expressed her views about the conflict and India’s move of stripping the valley of its special status.

“I condemn India for dismantling United Nations recognised status of Kashmir and Pakistan should hold India accountable for its atrocities against the people of Kashmir. We must fight for our honour and take back Kashmir and save our Kashmiri brothers and sisters. Pakistan Zindabad,” wrote Neelam Muneer.

India this week scrapped Occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s right to frame its own laws and allowed non-residents to buy property there. Before that, the Indian government blocked the internet, landline phones, cable television, and every other mode of communication to stop people from protesting against the arbitrary move. On Friday, the Indian forces used pellet guns to fight back at least 10,000 people who protested against the move despite the curfew.

Freedom fighters have been battling the Indian rule for nearly 30 years in the valley, leading to the martyrdom of more than 50,000 people.
