Capital village turns into hub of drug peddlers

Published on: December 7, 2016 4:29 AM

ISLAMABAD: The suburb village of the federal capital Islamabad Doray has become the hub of drug peddlers, from where millions of rupees heroine and charas is being supplied on a large scale to the twin cities on a daily basis.

The drug dealers settled in Doray village bring drugs from Peshawar and tribal areas across the Pak Afghan border. After that they convey this ‘white poison’ to the students of different universities and colleges of Rawalpindi and Islamabad through the drug pushers.

Though the Police Station Tarnol, under whose jurisdiction Doray village falls, has full information about the drug sellers’ network but it could not root out this racket as yet.

Reliable sources told Daily Times that police considers Doray village as a ‘no go area’ where some big drug dealers are living since long who use the women and children to sell their goods to the addicts.

The sources told this scribe the drug pushers have fixed some peculiar code words for selling the drugs. They sell each small packet for Rs 100 to Rs 1000 to the students of educational institutions of the twin cities.

The police after some efforts catch some small drug pusher, just to show their performance, whereas on the other hand the business of the main drug dealers is flourishing in connivance with
the police.

Some three years ago when a police official, ASI Ramzan, from Police Station Ramna went to Doray village to arrest a main culprit involved in drug selling, then a dozen people killed him in one of the worst violent incidents. The file of this murder was put under the pile of other cases, whereas these drug sellers are continuing their dirty business free without any check and balance.

The sources said that some of the police and the CIA officers are backing the criminals and due to this very reason their complete eradication was not carried out in the past.

The drug smugglers give them hefty bribes on a monthly basis and in return these corrupt officials provide shelter to the wrongdoers.

The source said whenever police make any plan to raid Doray village, the smugglers come to know in advance and they shift the drugs to some other places well in time and the police taste only failure .

The sources said that after Doray village the drug smugglers also established their set-up in other villages like Uthal near Bara Kahu and its suburbs.
