In a horrific manifestation of rage, a man, on Tuesday, allegedly killed four members of his family before shooting himself dead in Tank district.
According to police sources, Syed Rasool killed his wife, two daughters and a son and then took his own life.
A police official noted that two other children were also injured during the exchange of fire, and were shifted to a hospital for medical attention. The identities of the deceased and injured have not yet been disclosed.
A similar grotesque kill haunted the city of Chiniot, Punjab, last month when a man had committed suicide after killing his wife and three children. The incident had taken place in the area of Rai Chand where a man named Mohammad Aijaz had opened fire on his three children and wife before taking his own life.
Aijaz was said to have murdered his wife, Rubina; five-year-old son, Abu Bakar; four-year-old daughter, Tehreem and three-year-old son, Murtazeen.
Police sources claimed that the family was very poor and the couple used to often argue over this issue.
