KARACHI: Police on Saturday arrested two men accused of killing two women and a boy in Surjani town area of the metropolis, police sources reaveled.
The detained accused, Shamail Ahmed, aged 22, and Furqan Umer, aged 20, had killed two women, Kishwar, aged 50, and her daughter, Asma, aged 25, due to some internal conflict.
The accused had also kidnapped and killed an 11-year-old boy, Mubashir, son of Abdur Rehman. The boy was the neighbor of slain women and he had witnessed the scene. The body of the boy was recovered from the bushes in Taiser Town area of Karachi on Saturday. A team was constituted to trace real facts and arrest the culprits who later confessed to the crime. Police also recovered a sharp-edged knife and a motorcycle from their possession. The DIG west has announced rewards for the police team.
This is not a stand-alone incident. In August this year, the body of a four-year-old child was found from Karachi’s Hussain Hazara Goth. His father alleged his child had been kidnapped, though police and doctors called it an incident of drowning. Often when a child goes missing police do not lodge an FIR and begin investigation until 24 hours of the incident, losing crucial time to gather evidence which may lead to his recovery.
