Actor-turned-singer Ahad Raza Mir has responded to critics over Ko Ko Korina remake promising that he will comeback stronger and work twice as hard to gain their confidence after his Coke Studio debut ignited a social media backlash.
Ahad and Momina Mustehsan recreated 60s classic Ko Ko Korina from Waheed Murad’s movie Armaan, which did not impress a whole lot of people. Some people went as far as calling it ‘garbage’. It did rounds in political circles too as Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari criticised Coke Studio’s remake, calling it a ‘massacre’.

Momina Mustehsan responded to Mazari saying that “as our Minister of Human Rights, you (Mazari) should appreciate Coke Studio for allowing us to express ourselves, especially if it was horrendous”. However, the young musician’s tweet made things worse for her as she was subjected to added troll and criticism.

Now, Ahad Raza Mir has broken silence over the issue asking everyone to be ‘kind’. The artist said that criticism with love and kindness was more appropriate and ‘does not hurt much’.
Really all I'm trying to say is that we should learn to be kind. Even in our criticism. Trust me it goes a long way. Our song was a cover, and a cover is meant to deviate from the original. Its not supposed to sound or feel the same. And at the end of the day…it's a song.

Also lets respect our artists. All of them. Everytime an artists works…they take a risk. Not for themselves…but for you. Trust me when I say we work hard for YOU. Not for ourselves. Want to critisize.. do it with love. Works better and definelty doesn't hurt as much.

Mir thanked those who lauded his performance and the remake, but promised that he will work twice as hard to win confidence of his critics.
So lets remember something. If we can come together to hate something, we can do the same to love. Take that however you'd like.
