‘Worst decision ever’, Twitter reacts to Muhammad Salah’s Puskas award

Published on: September 25, 2018 1:16 PM

Liverpool forward Muhammad Salah did not win the FIFA best player award on Monday, but he di d win the Puskas (goal of the season) award for his goal against Everton.

Real Madrid’s Luka Modric won the award with 29.05 percent of the votes, while Juventus’ forward Cristiano Ronaldo received 19.08 percent and Salah got 11.23 percent of the votes.

Despite losing out on the best player award, Salah did manage to not go empty handed and was awarded the Puskas – award given to scorer of the best voted goal of the season.

Salah’s goal vs Everton that won him the Puskas

However, this did not sit well with many football fans. A number of people believed that Salah did not deserve to win the award and that it should have gone to Ronaldo for his effort against Juventus.

Here is what Twitter thinks above Salah’s goal

‘Worst decision ever’ says one Twitter user, adding that Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale’s champions league strikes were more deserving.

Honestly, that has to be the worst decision to even consider Salah’s goal as a Puskas candidate. Undeserved when Ronaldo/Bale scored a crazier goal.

‘Arjen Robben has scored hundreds of goals like that’

Arjen Robben would have hundreds of Puskas for scoring the similar goal that Salah did. But you know, Egypt have 80 million citizens. Egyptians everywhere.
