
LAHORE: Defense Day of Pakistan was celebrated in the city with full zeal and fervour.
The day dawned with special prayers and fateha khwani at Pakistan Air Force (PAF) mosques for martyrs who had laid down their lives for the country.
A special parade was held at PAF Base Lahore. PAF Base Commander read out a message by chief of air staff.
In connection with Defense Day, an aerial and static display was arranged at PAF Base, Lahore. Punjab Senior Provincial Minister Abdul Aleem Khan was the chief guest of the opening ceremony. On his arrival, he was received by PAF Central Air Command Air Officer Commanding Air Vice Marshal Irfan Ahmad.

An impressive aerial display by PAF fighter jets enthralled the visitors. An ultra light and aero-modeling aircraft display was also a source of enthusiasm for the spectators. PAF aircraft including JF-17 Thunder, F-16 and Mirage in addition to ground support and other auxiliary equipment were put on display.
Other stalls included PAF Women Association, PAF Books, Aviation Art Gallery, historical war pictures and other souvenirs. Documentary films about the PAF history were also shown.
The event was attended by a large number of retired PAF Officers, junior commissioned officers, non-commissioned officers and airmen of PAF high-profiled civil/military officers and other dignitaries.
Students from various educational institutes of Lahore were also invited to witness the aerial and ground display of PAF aircraft and equipment.
