LAHORE: Middle-order batsman Asad Shafiq on Sunday said that Pakistan were favourites to win the Asia Cup 2018, which will be played later this year in September.
Speaking to media in Karachi, Shafiq said that the team’s recent form has been remarkable and that the players are full of confidence.
“The 5-0 win against Zimbabwe and triangular T-20 series final win against Australia have done wonders to the confidence of the squad, and I believe it will come handy in the Asia Cup,” Asad said.
He continued that Pakistan were favourites to win the Asia Cup 2018.
Upon a question regarding his selection for the Asia Cup team, Shafiq said that he does not know anything about it yet.
“No one knows about the squad yet, but I am sure, all selected members will work at the best of their powers,” he said.
