Sir: In order to provide engineering education to the students of interior Sindh, Sindh University Engineering College Jamshoro was set up in 1963 as an affiliated college of Sindh University. Under the education policy of 1972, it was argued to upgrade the college towards the level of university of engineering and technology and transfer it to Nawabshah, and later, 1st year classes commenced frequently in 1974.
After passing the tenure of a few years, under an ordinance, an additional campus was also established in 1977. Later, provincial assembly named it as Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) through passing an act. In 1980, it was renamed as Mehran University College of Engineering and Technology (MUECT) Nawabshah. Through an ordinance and an act, later, passed in Sindh Assembly, the college was upgraded to the level of university as Quid-e-Awam University of Engineering Science and Technology (QUEST) in 1996. From that on, the University is providing the students of interior Sindh engineering and technology education in nearly 15 different departments. And it is spread over 457 acres near the Nawabshah Airport.
But, now, since a couple of years, it is suffering from unjustness which leaves its impact on the students at all. I have meet and found the students fraught with tensions and bleakness in a great deal. They are studded with tensions just because of delay in issuance of degrees.
If the students will not be provided with their degrees on time then, how can they refurbish their future and get jobs. Is it possible to get a professional job without any degree? It is hereby requested to the university management that it should issue degrees to the students as soon as possible.
