Published on: March 8, 2017 4:29 AM

DIR: Notification has been issued of the pay release of newly appointed 122 Dir levies personnel on Tuesday. DC Muhammad Usman Mehsud said that the inquiry had completed and irregularities had not been proved in the inquiry. Mehsud said that due to inquiry the salaries of the newly appointed levies personnel stopped until completion of the inquiry report. He said that Provincial Inquiry Team (PIT) had completed the report in which it said that all the process of the recruitment had been followed according to the roles and regulation. And allegations that were made against the then DC Zakaullah Khattak were baseless. So after the completion of the report the notification of release of salaries of those levies personnel had been issued. “Zakaullah Khattak did superb job and made the recruitment process fear for which he should appreciated,” said Usman Mehsud. Some 122 levies personnel had been recruited nine months before to increase the efficiency of the levy force in the district. However, after completion of the recruitment process the Jomaat-e-Islami Upper Dir chapter made allegations against the then Deputy Commissioner (DC) Upper Dir Zakaullah Khatak. JI alleged that the DC had violated the roles and regulation. They also alleged that irregularities were made by Zakaullah in the levies recruitment. The JI had also demanded of conducting of the impartial inquiry against the then DC. Sources said on the JI’s allegations the provincial government had conducted inquiry to probe the matter. The Provincial Investigation Team (PIT) had started inquiry into that regard some months before. Sources said that the PIT had made investigation in the inquiry for some months. However, the investigation team did not find any kind of irregularities in recruitment process. And the team had declared the JI’s allegations baseless that JI had made on the then DC Upper Dir Zakaullah Khattak.
