What to watch on Netflix this weekend

Published on: April 7, 2018 12:07 AM

If you’re like me who looks forward to Netflixing over the weekend then read on as together we decide what we’re gonna watch on Netflix this weekend. If you read my previous listing, you’ll know that this list is based on shows that I think might be interesting and not the ones that I have watched and reviewed.

Ittefaq

First up, let’s see if we find something in the newly added section. The first film that caught my attention in this section is Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha starring Ittefaq. The synopsis reads: A homemaker and a writer are prime suspects — and the only witnesses — in a double murder, and it’s up to one detective to uncover the elusive truth.” This 2017 film is a crime drama that is going in my list to watch this weekend.

My next three picks are from the trending section mainly because they look interesting plus they’re trending and there has to be a reason for that, right!?

Secret Superstar

This 2017 film is produced by Bollywood maestro Aamir Khan who also stars in the film alongside a lot of young and fresh talent. The film features the coming-of-age story of a teenage girl aspiring to be a singer but is faced with issues such as societal pressures and domestic violence. The film also touches the subjects of feminism and gender equality.

Rishta.com

This romantic drama stars Shruti Seth, Kavi Shastri and Siddhanth Karnick. Although this is a 2010 show but has hit Netflix only recently and has been trending on the platform. The synopsis might give us more idea as to what this film is all about.

Partners at an Indian matrimonial agency face endlessly challenging and often impossible demands as they help clients make the perfect match.

Alexa & Katie

The synopsis of this recent Netflix original show reads “Alexa is battling cancer. But with her best friend, Katie, by her side, she’s also starting high school — and ready for whatever comes next.”

From the synopsis, this show is all about perseverance and living the life to the fullest no matter what life has to throw at you. We all need inspirational family comedies like this one every once in a while.

That’s it with the list this weekend. Enjoy.
