Sindh cabinet to give final nod to nine legislations, amendments

KARACHI: The legislation and amendments on nine bills by the Sindh Cabinet is on cards in the next coming session of the assembly.

The cabinet meeting is scheduled to be held on March 27.

On the agenda, the cabinet will also confirm the last cabinet meetings minutes held on January 16 and 19, 2017.

The participants would take into consideration the approval of the draft on ‘Sindh Development & Maintenance of Infrastructure Cess Act 2017’ for provincial Excise, Taxation and Narcotics department for the final approval and later the draft will be presented in the next coming assembly session.

It is also anticipated that cabinet will discuss on the ‘Enactment of Sindh Occupational Safety and Health Act 2015’ for Labour and Human Resources department.

The participants would also propose an Amendment in Section 3(5) of the Sindh Shaheed Recognition & Compensation Act, 2014 for Home Department.

The Sindh Government is going to amend the existing law of Anti-Terrorism Act (Sindh Amendment) Bill 2016 for the Home Department.

The provincial cabinet is also considering amending the Sindh Rented Premises (Amendment) bill, 2017 for Home Department.

The inclusion of six permanent members in Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Human Resource, Research and Development Board (BBSHRRDA) Act 2013 would also come under discussion for final approval.

Amendment Bill of ‘Jacobabad Institute of Medical Sciences Jacobabad Act 2013 which belongs to health department will also be discussed in the cabinet meeting.

Amendment in Sindh Coal Authority Act 1993 and Draft Bill of the Sindh Revenue Board (Amendment) Act, 2017 is also on the agenda.
