Footpath school owner alleges government officials of ‘misbehaviour’

Published on: February 24, 2018 11:04 PM

KARACHI: Education Monitoring Director Nisar Abbas on Saturday allegedly misbehaved with Ocean Welfare Organisation CEO Anfas Ali Zaidi and pressurised her to shutdown the NGO-run footpath school.

According to reports, Nisar Abbas arrived at the location of the makeshift school accompanied by several other officials, and misbehaved with Anfas Ali. They also pressurised the humanitarian to shutdown the school.

In the wake of alleged misbehaviour and harsh treatment from government officials, Anfas was said to be traumatised and taken to a hospital after she fell ill, where a CT-scan is also expected to be conducted, said the sources.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had taken suo moto notice of the matter in favour of the OWO CEO earlier, but despite the notice, officials stormed the place, said sources.

Sources further claimed that they received a message from Anfas’ Whatsapp number regarding the matter by one of her acquaintances. Sources added that friends of the CEO have taken to social and electronic media to appeal against the ‘atrocities’.
