Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s ‘Murshid Ji’ with Sahir Ali Bagga goes viral, is an instant hit

Published on: December 16, 2017 1:03 AM

On Thursday, the eagerly awaited ‘Arth – The Destination’ released its song called “Murshid Ji” which took the Internet by storm.

Shaan, the director of this highly anticipated film, starring himself, Mohib Mirza, Humaima Malick and Uzma Hassan as leads—believes that a romantic musical befits each one of the selected actors featured in the film. The inherent motive of doing so was to ensure the least detachment between their actual lives and the roles they play in the film. Precisely, this seems like an attempt to keep a reflection of real life upon a cinematic performance

The composition, the direction as well as the singing – all conjointly contributed to this musical number’s brilliant combination of contemporary rock interspersed with evergreen Sufi rendition. “Murshed Ji” captures the plight of love, passion and music. A song with such strong vocals by Sahir Ali Bagga and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and direction by Shaan Shahid, makes it even more worthwhile for the audience as it brings not just the finest of artists together on the screen but casts a spellbinding effect on the listeners by the dint of its soulful melody. “The song itself grips the gist of the film, themed on the holy connection a person feels for his Creator,” commented Shaan Shahid as the team prepared to release one of their most heartfelt musical performances.

The public holds great expectations for the film with respect to music for the film being a romantic musical, with Sahir Ali Bagga as its music composer, Shaan the performer and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan as the singer. “Murshed Ji”, which released on Thursday, gives an insight into the film by re-enacting pivotal and climactic moments of the film on Rahat’s melodic voice.

Shaan, who plays the role of a forgotten artist coming back to his career after years, in the song depicts a long-awaited breakthrough of an artist. It is not a coincidence that Shaan himself has come back on the screen after many years and that too with a romantic musical

Likewise, the song accomplishes the same purpose of casting a mere reflection of what subject the movie revolves around, keeping the viewers curious and, at the same time, privy to what comes next. The film is produced by Hammad Chaudhry, Faraz Chaudhry and Shaan under their banners of HKC Entertainment, Cinestar and 5th Element Entertainment, respectively. The film is expected to release worldwide in cinemas on December 21, 2017.
