Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the successful conclusion of the first high-level US-Iran talks held under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding in Switzerland. The negotiations produced a roadmap for a final agreement within 60 days and established a mechanism for continued engagement. The breakthrough is significant for regional stability and ongoing diplomatic efforts involving multiple countries.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the discussions were conducted in a positive and constructive atmosphere. The two sides agreed to form a High-Level Committee to provide political oversight and support future negotiations. They also approved the continuation of technical talks aimed at addressing outstanding issues.

Shehbaz praised the leadership of both the United States and Iran for their commitment to dialogue and constructive engagement. He also thanked Qatar and Switzerland for their support in facilitating the talks.
