At least three people were killed and 10 others injured in a tragic road accident near the scenic Qewai Waterfall in Mansehra on Sunday when a steel-loaded dumper truck overturned onto a tourist vehicle.
According to rescue officials, the deceased were identified as Tajinder Singh, Jasraj Singh and Aftab, son of Altaf Hussain. The injured include Surjit Singh, Harpal Singh, Saranjit Singh, Jagnit Singh, Sogdis Singh, Kirt Jot Singh, and Fateh Singh, who reportedly belong to Gujranwala. Other injured persons were identified as Muhammad Yasir, Abdul Basit and Nauman, residents of Kholian area in Balakot.
Upon receiving information, teams from Rescue 1122 Mansehra and Ghulam Hassan Welfare Ambulance Service rushed to the scene and launched rescue operations. The injured and deceased were initially shifted to Balakot Hospital. Rescue authorities said that due to the critical condition of some injured victims, they were later transferred to King Abdullah Hospital for advanced medical treatment.
The tragic incident cast a pall of grief over the area, while police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
