Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has renewed his offer of dialogue to opposition parties, urging political stakeholders to work together in the national interest and prioritize Pakistan’s stability, development and prosperity.
Addressing the National Assembly of Pakistan, the prime minister said Parliament serves as the representative institution of all four provinces and should be used to build consensus on key national issues. He stressed that political differences should not stand in the way of efforts aimed at strengthening the country.
“The opposition members are our brothers. We have no personal enmity with them,” Shehbaz Sharif said, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect and cooperation in democratic politics.
Recalling his time in opposition, the prime minister noted that he had previously proposed a Charter of Economy to create political consensus on economic reforms. He said the initiative was not accepted at the time but reiterated his willingness to engage in dialogue for the broader benefit of the country.
“It is never too late,” he said, inviting opposition parties to sit together and discuss solutions to Pakistan’s challenges.
The prime minister also paid tribute to Pakistan’s security forces, acknowledging the sacrifices made by military personnel in the fight against terrorism. He said the nation must honor those who have lost their lives while defending the country.
Highlighting development efforts, Shehbaz Sharif said all provinces have an equal right to benefit from national resources. Referring to the Reko Diq Project, he described the agreement as an example of inclusive development achieved through consultation with stakeholders in Balochistan.
He also pointed to federal initiatives in the province, including solar energy projects for farmers and infrastructure investments aimed at improving connectivity.
The prime minister concluded by reaffirming that national unity, political cooperation and collective responsibility are essential for Pakistan’s progress and long-term stability.
