Security forces eliminate six terrorists in Panjgur operation

Published on: June 5, 2026 6:14 PM

Pakistan’s security forces killed six terrorists linked to Fitna-ul-Hindustan during an intelligence-based operation in Panjgur district of Balochistan. The operation was conducted over June 3 and 4 after security agencies received credible intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the area, leading to a targeted action against the suspected hideout.

According to the military’s media wing, security personnel engaged the terrorists during the operation and successfully neutralized all six militants following an exchange of fire. Officials stated that the killed individuals were involved in multiple acts of terrorism and sabotage that had threatened peace and stability in the region.

During the operation, security forces also recovered a vehicle along with a significant cache of weapons and ammunition from the possession of the slain terrorists. Authorities believe the seized material could have been used in future attacks, highlighting the importance of the successful operation.

Meanwhile, a sanitisation operation remains underway in the area to locate and eliminate any remaining militants who may still be present. Security agencies continue to carry out search activities to ensure the region is cleared of terrorist elements and to prevent any further threats.

President Asif Ali Zardari praised the security forces for carrying out the successful operation and eliminating the militants. He described the action as an important step toward maintaining peace and said efforts under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative would continue until terrorism is fully eradicated.

Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi also commended the professionalism and courage displayed by security personnel during the operation. He said the forces had dealt a significant blow to terrorist networks and emphasized that the nation stands firmly alongside its security institutions in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
