Abhijeet Dipke, a political communications strategist and graduate of Boston University, announced that he was travelling from the United States to India to pursue a peaceful demonstration scheduled for Saturday.
The online movement was launched in May and quickly gained popularity across social media platforms. Its name, Cockroach Janta Party, is a satirical reference to India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The initiative emerged after reports that Chief Justice Surya Kant referred to some government critics as “cockroaches” and “parasites” during a court hearing. The chief justice later stated that his remarks had been taken out of context.

Dipke said the campaign aims to amplify youth voices and has adopted the slogan “a political front for the youth, by the youth, for the youth.” The movement has attracted significant attention online, particularly on social media platforms where its content has been widely shared.
The group has called for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who has faced criticism over alleged irregularities in several major examinations. Dipke stressed that supporters should remain peaceful and comply with legal requirements.
Prominent activist Sonam Wangchuk has also expressed support for the planned demonstration and indicated that he intends to participate.

According to reports, some of the movement’s social media accounts have been restricted in India. However, its Instagram presence continues to attract a large following, significantly increasing the visibility of the campaign.
Dipke urged supporters not to gather at the airport and said he would first approach authorities to obtain permission for the protest, emphasizing that the movement intended to remain peaceful and law-abiding.
