Punjab Police continues to undertake vigorous welfare measures for its personnel and their families. In continuation of these initiatives, Punjab Police has spent a total of more than Rs. 970 million on the welfare and well-being of police personnel and their families during the current year.
Providing details, the Punjab Police Spokesperson said that more than Rs. 301.7 million has been disbursed in the form of educational scholarships for the children of police employees. More than Rs. 261.3 million has been provided to the daughters of police employees in the form of wedding gifts. Similarly, more than Rs. 146.2 million has been released to assist police employees and their families with medical treatment facilities, while more than Rs. 138.5 million has been paid to police employees under retirement grants.
Punjab Police Spokesperson further said that more than Rs. 88.9 million has been provided to the families of police employees under the maintenance allowance. An amount of Rs. 26.5 million has been provided to the families of police personnel for funeral expenses, while more than Rs. 6.829 million has been released to police personnel as immediate financial assistance.
IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that efforts to alleviate the difficulties faced by employees and their families will continue through income generated from the Police Welfare Fund and other welfare resources. He said that welfare initiatives are being further strengthened to ensure that police personnel and their families are provided with every possible assistance.
