Iran has strongly rejected US allegations claiming that Tehran was involved in a plot to assassinate American leaders, including former President Donald Trump. Officials in Tehran described the accusations as baseless and politically motivated, aimed at damaging Iran’s international image amid ongoing tensions.
Moreover, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei responded to remarks made by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during a Senate hearing. He said that Iran firmly denies all such allegations and considers them part of a broader campaign of misinformation against the country.

He further stated that every accusation made against Iran reflects, in his view, an attempt to shift attention away from other serious global issues. Baqaei argued that such claims are designed to strengthen negative narratives about Iran on the international stage.
In addition, the Iranian spokesperson accused the United States of attempting to portray itself as a victim while ignoring what he described as war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity. He said these actions undermine the credibility of the accusations being directed at Tehran.

Furthermore, Baqaei emphasized that repeated allegations without evidence are being used to distract global attention from real political and humanitarian issues. He said Iran sees these claims as part of a coordinated effort to build pressure against its government and policies.
Meanwhile, tensions between Iran and the United States remain high, with both sides frequently exchanging accusations over regional security and geopolitical disputes. Observers note that such statements continue to deepen mistrust and complicate diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
