The decisions were made during a cabinet meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in Karachi. The meeting reviewed a range of development initiatives covering infrastructure, energy, health, education and security sectors.

One of the key approvals was the allocation of Rs8.825 billion in additional funding for 16 Annual Development Programme (ADP) schemes related to water supply and drainage during the 2025-26 fiscal year. The funding is intended to accelerate the completion of projects designed to improve public services and address long-standing water management challenges in different parts of the province.

According to officials, Rs6.206 billion will be reallocated from the ADP block allocation, while the remaining Rs2.618 billion will be sourced from another development allocation. The chief minister directed relevant departments to ensure that all financial and administrative requirements are completed so payments can be made within the current financial year.

The cabinet also approved major infrastructure projects for Karachi worth Rs11.198 billion, reflecting the provincial government’s focus on improving urban facilities and supporting economic activity in the country’s largest city.

Addressing the meeting, Murad Ali Shah stressed that development projects must be completed on schedule and with full transparency. He said the government remains committed to improving service delivery and ensuring that public funds are utilised effectively.

In addition to development spending, the cabinet approved measures aimed at strengthening security institutions. A revised procurement plan worth Rs857.024 million was approved for the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) to enhance its operational capabilities.

The cabinet also authorised direct contracting with the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) for the procurement of specialised equipment and services required by the CTD.
