Mika Abdalla, known for her role in the popular series Off Campus, has reportedly ended her engagement with actor Jake Short after five years of being together. The couple, who once shared a strong public relationship, have officially separated, confirming a sudden shift in their personal lives.

The breakup was confirmed on June 1 by Abdalla’s representative, who stated that the decision was mutual and not driven by any dramatic conflict. Moreover, the statement clarified that the separation was linked to changes in Abdalla’s professional commitments and growing career demands.

According to the spokesperson, Mika Abdalla and Jake Short remain on friendly terms and continue to support each other despite ending their engagement. In addition, they have requested privacy from the public as they navigate this personal transition away from the spotlight.

The couple first met in 2021 while working together on the Hulu teen comedy Sex Appeal, where they played on-screen love interests. Subsequently, their on-screen chemistry developed into a real-life relationship, which eventually led to their engagement in 2025 after several years of dating.

Mika Abdalla has recently gained significant attention for her role as Allie in Off Campus, with the show’s second season increasing her popularity further. Consequently, rising career opportunities and filming schedules are believed to have played a key role in reshaping her personal priorities.

Jake Short, a former Disney Channel actor known for projects like A.N.T Farm and Mighty Med, has maintained a relatively low public profile in recent years. Meanwhile, their last public appearance on social media together was recorded in early 2026, before the latest developments in their relationship became public.
