
Lahore police have launched a crackdown against banned organisations and individuals illegally collecting animal hides during Eidul Azha under Section 144. Authorities said strict action is being taken to regulate charitable activities and maintain law and order across the city. The operation comes amid heightened security measures during the Eid period.
According to Deputy Inspector General of Operations Muhammad Faisal Kamran, 45 suspects have been arrested for illegally collecting sacrificial hides without official permission. He added that 38 cases have been registered against individuals involved in unlawful fundraising activities. Police said only organisations registered with the Charity Commission are allowed to collect donations.

Authorities further stated that operations are also underway against illegal street activities, including the preparation of traditional dishes in residential areas. Officials confirmed that 38 individuals involved in unlawful cooking and public nuisance activities have been arrested. They said 26 additional cases have also been registered as part of the ongoing enforcement drive.
Police said restrictions have been imposed on roadside cooking and public gatherings in streets, intersections, and residential neighbourhoods during Eid days. Officials also confirmed that no incidents of aerial firing were reported during the celebrations. Meanwhile, efforts continued to curb illegal kite flying and reckless driving in the city.

The police urged citizens to report any unlawful activity to authorities for immediate action. They said the objective of the operation is to ensure public safety, prevent misuse of charitable donations, and maintain peaceful Eid celebrations across Lahore.
