
Director Matt Reeves has confirmed major casting updates for The Batman Part II, revealing a mix of returning stars, fresh additions and notable exits ahead of the film’s scheduled 2027 release.
The sequel, currently slated for release on October 1, 2027, remains in development, with Reeves and co-writer Mattson Tomlin continuing work on the script. Reeves recently shared his enthusiasm for the project, saying he is proud of the screenplay and excited about the film’s direction.

Robert Pattinson is set to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne, returning as Gotham’s dark and troubled vigilante after leading the 2022 blockbuster.
Among the new additions, Scarlett Johansson has officially joined the cast in an undisclosed role, prompting speculation among fans about which iconic Gotham character she may portray.
Sebastian Stan is also joining the project. Industry reports suggest he could take on the role of Harvey Dent, one of Gotham’s most significant characters and the future villain Two-Face.
Veteran actor Charles Dance has reportedly been cast in a role connected to the Dent family, adding further intrigue to the sequel’s evolving storyline.
Several familiar faces are expected to return, including Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as Penguin, Jayme Lawson, Barry Keoghan and Gil Perez-Abraham.
However, Zoë Kravitz is reportedly not expected to return as Catwoman, while John Turturro is also unlikely to reprise his role following events in the first film.
