Pakistan’s Foreign Office has rejected speculation about any strain in relations with the United Arab Emirates, saying bilateral ties remain strong and unaffected. Officials emphasized that the relationship between Islamabad and Abu Dhabi continues to be based on long-standing cooperation and mutual trust. The statement was issued during a weekly media briefing in Islamabad.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said Pakistan and the UAE share “brotherly” relations built on strong foundations. He noted that around 2.2 million Pakistanis are currently living and working in the UAE. He also highlighted that bilateral trade between the two countries is valued at nearly $8 billion.

The spokesperson firmly dismissed reports suggesting a large-scale expulsion of Pakistani workers from the Gulf state. He said there was no indication of any negative shift in diplomatic or labour relations. Pakistan’s Interior Ministry had already rejected similar claims earlier.

Andrabi stressed that there was “absolutely no question” of any deterioration in ties between the two countries. He reiterated that engagement between Islamabad and Abu Dhabi remains stable and constructive. Officials said such speculation does not reflect the reality of bilateral relations.

The spokesperson also welcomed calls for dialogue with Pakistan emerging from within India. He described such voices as a positive development for regional stability. He added that Pakistan hopes for reduced tensions and improved diplomatic engagement in South Asia.
