Abbas Araghchi on Thursday accused the United Arab Emirates of acting as an active partner in the ongoing US-Israeli military campaign against Iran. Speaking during a BRICS summit visit to India, the Iranian foreign minister claimed Abu Dhabi directly supported actions targeting Tehran during the recent regional conflict.
In a statement shared on Telegram, Araghchi alleged that the UAE not only refused to condemn the attacks against Iran but also participated in operations linked to the conflict. He further claimed that Emirati authorities may have played a direct operational role in actions carried out against Iranian interests during the escalation.

The Iranian minister also referred to reports of an alleged secret wartime meeting between Benjamin Netanyahu and Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the UAE. While Israeli officials reportedly described the meeting as confidential, Abu Dhabi has publicly denied that such discussions ever took place during the conflict period.
Relations between Iran and Gulf states have remained tense since February 28, when US-Israeli strikes triggered retaliatory Iranian attacks targeting Israel and several American allies in the Gulf region. Although a fragile ceasefire came into effect on April 8, diplomatic tensions and mutual accusations have continued to rise across the region.

Iran has repeatedly accused Gulf countries of allowing American forces to use their territories and airspace for military operations against Tehran. However, Gulf governments have strongly rejected these allegations and previously stated that they would not permit attacks on Iran to be launched from their soil under any circumstances.
Meanwhile, the UAE recently accused Iran of being responsible for a drone strike on an energy installation in the emirate of Fujairah, an allegation Tehran denied. Iranian state television has also aired commentary from analysts accusing the UAE of involvement in attacks on Iran, further deepening political tensions between the neighbouring countries.
