Congressman Al Green presented the “Original Resolution Commending the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for its efforts to facilitate peace between the United States and Israel with Iran,” highlighting Islamabad’s role as a neutral intermediary amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainty.

According to the resolution, Pakistan’s efforts are being recognised for promoting diplomacy at a time when conflict in the region has led to significant human and economic costs. The document describes Pakistan as a reliable and balanced partner working to support peaceful engagement among key stakeholders.
In a statement accompanying the resolution, Congressman Green said that countries helping to reduce tensions and encourage communication deserve acknowledgment, particularly during periods marked by violence, displacement and instability.
He noted that Pakistan’s diplomatic approach demonstrates the continued relevance of dialogue in resolving complex international disputes. The resolution also reflects broader calls within diplomatic circles for peaceful solutions over military escalation in the Middle East.
The development comes as Pakistan has publicly expressed hope for progress in discussions involving Washington and Tehran. During a recent weekly media briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said Pakistan remains optimistic about the possibility of a constructive agreement between the two sides.
While details of the diplomatic exchanges have not been made public, Andrabi said it remains unclear whether any potential agreement would take the form of a brief framework or a more detailed document.
Pakistan has in recent months positioned itself as an advocate of de-escalation, consistently calling for dialogue and restraint in regional conflicts. The latest congressional resolution adds to growing international recognition of Islamabad’s diplomatic engagement.

Analysts say such gestures, while symbolic, reflect the increasing visibility of Pakistan’s foreign policy efforts on global platforms, particularly in matters involving regional stability, mediation and conflict prevention.
