According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) West Tariq Elahi Mastoi, the arrested suspect has been identified as Umar Saeed. He is accused of playing a key role in planning the killing and helping the main suspects escape after the attack.
Police officials said Umar Saeed was taken into custody during a targeted operation in the Orangi Town area of Karachi. A motorcycle, ammunition, and illegal weapons were recovered from his possession at the time of arrest.
ASI Abrar was shot dead on April 22 in the MPR Colony area of Karachi in what police describe as a targeted attack. Investigators believe the killing was part of a coordinated plan involving multiple individuals.
Authorities stated that the arrested facilitator remained in constant contact with the absconding suspects and kept them informed about police movements and the progress of the investigation. He allegedly helped the main accused flee Karachi shortly after the incident.
SSP West added that digital evidence obtained from the suspect’s mobile phone has provided important leads. Based on this information, police have launched raids at multiple locations to track down and arrest the remaining suspects involved in the case.
Law enforcement agencies say efforts are ongoing to dismantle the network behind the attack and bring all individuals involved to justice. Police have also intensified intelligence-based operations in surrounding areas to prevent further incidents and ensure the arrest of the remaining accused.
